What excites you about design thinking? How have you used design thinking in your work? I often use design thinking when I need to get “un-stuck”. Ever since my time in college, I have been doing what I call “dream sessions”. I think about what excites me and brainstorm ways I can incorporate those things into my life.

What is an experience that shaped you as a teacher (or learner)? I spent a semester in college studying abroad in Quito, Ecuador. Learning Spanish in an environment where the things I picked up in the classroom were immediately applicable to my adventures throughout the city was the BEST way to learn a language.

Where are you from? (Interpret as you wish.) I am from many places! I was born in the Philippines, lived most of my life in Papua New Guinea, and spent four years in Michigan completing my undergrad. Home is where my friends and family are.

Ask me about... Growing up in the Philippines & Papua New Guinea, the importance of studying abroad, and the dangers of toxic masculinity.
