Leadership Opportunities in Carillon

Carillon students have various leadership opportunities available to them.

Every year Carillon looks to its students to assist the program in its recruitment efforts. The Ambassador role is key in helping prospective students and their families gain a greater understanding of the program and its benefits. Student Ambassadors connect with future Terps during open houses, one-on-one meetings, via phone calls, and participating in webchats. The Ambassador role is a great way to gain leadership experience and strengthen communication skills.

Ambassadors serve during recruitment season, which typically runs from January - April. The application opens in late November and closes in early January.

First constituted in Fall 2022, the Carillon Communities Council includes at least one representative from each community. The Council meets monthly with the Program Manager and Carillon staff to share news and experiences.

Council members serve October - May. The application opens in September.

Carillon Communities students have the opportunity to earn two separate badges/micro-credentials–Mentorship and Leadership–by completing approved activities and submitting a reflection on Portfolium

Please email carillon@umd.edu if you are interested in earning a Carillon Communities Badge. View a brief description of each badge below
