Why do you teach IDEA101? It’s really rewarding to be part of the students’ transition to college. I like giving them a different type of course interaction than what they may be used to, one that’s interactive and focuses on learning by doing, and introducing them to new ways of problem solving through design thinking.
What excites you about design thinking? Design thinking has the potential to broaden perspectives and shift mindsets. It’s a way to turn problems into potential.
What is special to you about Carillon Communities? Students make lifelong friends in Carillon, which is amazing! What’s more amazing is that I get to be part of that.
What is your favorite part about teaching? My favorite part about teaching is seeing students make connections between what they’re learning and their life. When they’re able to apply what they learn and make it actionable and meaningful to them, that’s when the real learning (and magic!) happens.
